As a Team Lead - Platform Developers, you will be the primary coach for the team, involved in both the prioritization and design of your team’s work, driving the project components and schedules, and measuring the positive impacts these platform improvements have on our users. As a rapidly growing company, we work hard to understand our customers’ needs and quickly deliver quality solutions that enable them to define, execute, and communicate their product plans through roadmap visualization. What does success look like in this role? Fast forward a few months, and you’ll be: Driving development efforts for improvements and platform projects Knowing and communicating the expected outcomes of your team’s work and measuring deliverables against those. On track? Great! Off the mark? Also, great - as long as we’re learning and adjusting based on those learnings. Sharing the experiences and lessons learned from those failures across our Engineering teams will be part of your success. We take retrospectives very seriously! Working closely with Site Reliability Engineering and Product Managers to influence product and business outcomes. Collaborating effectively with all team members as well as holding regular team meetings Guiding, coaching and mentoring team members. Leading the push of best practices for the delivery of scalable and high-quality software. Presenting topics at “Lounge and Learns” Being a true champion for secure, testable, and supportable code. Contributing to the team efforts but never in the critical path! REQUIREMENTS How many years of experience do I need to have? We are looking for team lead with a software development background but are not looking for a certain number of years. Just show us you know what you’re doing and what you have done, regardless of how long you’ve been doing it. What tech stacks should I know? At Roadmunk, it isn’t so much about the tech stack. We use the tools that best align with the work being done. Show us your critical thinking skills and we know you’ll be able to adapt to whatever tech is needed. However, if you’re curious, we are a Node and MongoDB stack migrating to React on the frontend. We also leverage AWS, DynamoDB, GraphQL, and Kubernetes. Anything else required? We want you to help mentor and grow our team! We value teamwork and that makes communication skills important - especially the ability to listen and ask the right questions. The interview process will help us identify how you solve problems and we’ll be looking for you to show off strong analytical skills with empathy. Above all else, be equally willing to teach and learn! How much development will I do? You are not expected to put yourself on the critical path of projects and objectives but having experience and the ability to help the team out is important, you will be part of technical discussions and will have to have a technical understanding of the platform and what your team is working on.
