Job Description

You will be one of our team of developers building and maintaining tools to assist with onboarding set top boxes, processing and analysing scan data, and displaying to customers as reports, charts and insights. You will need to work independently at first and then onboard and lead others as we grow the team. There is a mixture of challenges as we bring on new set top box platforms and extend the analytics and reports produced. Your goal will be a stable set of scrapers, tools, customer facing websites that can adapt and keep working with minimal intervention. Maintain, streamline and enhance our existing scraper tools in NodeJS Develop and maintain image processing Lambdas in NodeJS. Develop and maintain customer facing websites providing analysis and insights into the scan data. Help us to rapidly expand our network by adapting and extending our software to bring new platforms online Automate the validation of scrapes to ensure that high levels of accuracy is maintained Play a part in an agile team – participate in stand-ups, sprint planning retrospectives. Gain exposure to other popular programming languages and frameworks including Python, Lambda, OCR of screenshots on Raspberry Pi devices using Tesseract Requirements   Full Stack NodeJS experience, 3+ years in a commercial role. You need to be confident in your ability to support and build upon our current systems which include AWS Lambdas, RDS Aurora (POstgreSQL) and VueJS An interest in additional languages, paradigms and skills. Our scrapers are built in NodeJS and process data into our PostgreSQL and AWS systems. Having an interest in how other parts of the system integrate. Highly numerate and literate in English. We’re a remote team and communication is extremely important. Proactive and organised. We do not micromanage so the day-to-day aspects will need to be managed well in order to ensure you deliver. Working knowledge of GitHub and Git workflows, unit testing, and DevOps toolchains Desirable Hands-on experience with AWS, specifically Lambdas Knowledge of the various API authentication methods Knowledge of Python Experience with PostgreSQL Familiarity with microservices architecture Experience with GraphQL queries Benefits Why You’ll Love Working at Looper We’re a genuine group of talented and helpful people.
