The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (ST). This position provides surge support for technical and strategic guidance related to the planning and execution of laboratory research activities. This is a remote/offsite position. In this role you will be expected to: Participate in regular project status meetings. Provide oversight for research and development (RD) program tasks, schedule, regulatory compliance, and strategy. Provide assessments of requirements and gaps, technical engineering support for facility projects, and responses to newly identified issues. Required Qualifications: Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to obtain DHS Suitability Desired Qualifications: Operational, programmatic or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE). Ability to work collaboratively in a high pressure, fast paced atmosphere. Experience supporting DHS components and agencies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with program/project management. Experience writing and editing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
