The Role As an engineering manager at Peek, your primary responsibilities are bringing up the people around you and helping your team navigate the challenges of a quickly growing startup in a very competitive industry. You’ll be managing up to a dozen engineers with diverse backgrounds, on multiple tech stacks, and with a variety of experience levels. This position reports to the Director of Engineering at Peek and works closely with colleagues within the engineering and product organization, as well as with leaders on support and sales teams. Your performance will be graded on peer feedback, as well as your ability to influence and deliver on our product and engineering roadmaps. Our engineering group works on several different products and systems: our Peek Pro operations management suite, embeddable scheduling booking widgets, B2B and B2C sales and support tools, and custom development services for our enterprise customers. Our team is 100% remote, however, we prefer candidates in the same time zones as the greater United States (UTC-10 to UTC-4). English is our business language, and fluency is required. Responsibilities: The professional development of your reports through coaching, mentoring, and advocacy. Improving processes, standards, and communication within your team. Collaborating with other leaders and managers to unblock progress. Working closely with product managers to ensure we’re solving the right problems for our customers. Hiring and onboarding talented engineers. Requirements: 2+ years of experience in a people management role. Excellent communication skills. A keen desire to build positive relationships across professional boundaries and experience levels. Familiarity leading remote engineering teams in an agile SDLC.
