We believe that in order to make an impact, we must do it purposely. The person who fills this role is expected to have a large impact on the success of Delivery and their respective COE. Leaders in this role are capable of identifying priorities across all projects and keeping their team focused on creating high-value, including identifying appropriate project staffing and headcount. As part of keeping the team focused, the COE Engineering Lead will partner closely with the product lead to manage project scope and ensure the technical deliverables are met. In addition to focusing on the team, the COE Engineering Lead will support Sales by developing a set of materials to help position and package offers to potential clients and provide achievable estimates to sell the engineering work. The COE Engineering Lead will spend less time writing code, though they still engage in technical deliverables and acting as technical lead on your chargeable projects, without blocking or slowing down the progress of their team. More than writing code, you hold the responsibility for identifying and clearing bottlenecks and roadblocks to success for your team. As an independent manager, you are comfortable managing team members with common and different skills sets. You can communicate expectations clearly using flexible leadership styles set clear direction and motivation for your team members. You’ll be a valued core member of our team and help build cutting-edge applications for our clients. Manages a center of excellence, identifing growth opportunities within COE to evaluate and develop for all team members. Responsible for technical health and performance on all projects, accurate time-keeping, and achievement of team and individual changeability targets. Explains and communicates challenges to Delivery leadership and works to build consensus at departmental levels. Partners with management to define goals and determines how to use or hire resources to meet goals. Has developed depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline to guide and participate in client-related projects. Utilizes fully developed business knowledge and collaboration outside of department to drive departmental problems to solution. Is available, approachable and accessible and is known to be willing and able to help when the need arises including small bug fixes and building out small features. Supports Sales by establishing materials for selling services of the respective COE Supports Sales by providing achievable estimates for new and renewing client proposals Requirements Prior experience supervising people directly or indirectly on engineering teams is desirable. Must be comfortable guiding others in project work and through business decisions. Desire to continue to pursue technical discipline: Mobile / Web / Back-end / DevOPs / Architecture / QA Prioritizes and takes action on the needs of both internal and external clients to designs and deliver products and services with the client experience top of mind. Capable of working well with others both on the team and cross-functionally to achieve individual goals, team goals, department goals, and/or organizational goals, valuing diverse perspectives and working with others as a way to achieve the best output possible. Uses critical thinking to evaluate problems, gather information, understand causes, and identify best possible solutions, investing time in planning, discovery, and reflection to drive better decisions and more efficient implementations.
